Findus Vegetables Policy
We are committed to offering the best tasting and highest quality vegetables possible.
As well as ensuring the vegetables we use are of a superior quality, we also have a responsibility to ensure they are grown and sourced in a way that works with the natural environment.
Findus agronomy Research & Develpment focus on agricultural projects improving the visible and invisible quality with lowest possible impact on nature.
We have over the last decades developed and implemented the Findus LISA* System for our contract farming of vegetables in Norway.
About half the amount of our vegetables comes from Findus’ own contract farming.
For external purchased vegetables we request EUREPGAP or similar certification system to ensure cultivation conditions that promote product safety and quality with minimal impact on environment.
Findus' version is that all vegetables should be sourced from sustainable cultivations certified according to EUREPGAP or similar system by 2010.
We actively support the development of sustainable agriculture and encourage an open debate with all stakeholders.
* Findus LISA: Low Input Sustainable Agriculture"
is a Quality and Environmental Management system ensuring top quality vegetables as well as low impact on the environment.
Findus LISA fulfils the EUROPGAP-requirements.
